Austin FC, the major league soccer team of Austin, Texas, announced it has entered into a multi-year founding partner sponsorship agreement with Netspend, an Austin-based payments and digital solutions provider, according to a press release.
As part of the agreement Netspend will have its logo prominently featured on the right sleeve of Austin FC’s primary and secondary jerseys, as well as men’s, women’s, and youth sizes sold online and at select retail locations.
In addition, Netspend will become the official digital payment partner of the club and the official prepaid debit Mastercard provider. Netspend products and technologies will also be integrated within the stadium to enhance food, beverage, and merchandise transactions.
Netspend has been working with Austin FC to improve the overall digital transaction experience for stadium attendees by enabling them to safely and quickly purchase food, beverages, and merchandise via a robust digital payment application.
“We’re thrilled for the opportunity to share our scalable financial solutions with major sports venues starting with Austin FC, our newest hometown team,” Kelley Knutson, president of Netspend said in the release. “Netspend is working with Austin FC to implement its end-to-end processing platform, which will integrate digital and physical payment solutions to create cashless transaction experiences for fans at the new state-of-the-art stadium.”
