Noon has quietly launched its mobile wallet, Noon Pay. in the United Arab Emirates. The launch, which has been in the works for over a year, was handled without any fanfare. Although the launch was announced initially on Noon Pay’s social media accounts weeks ago.
Earlier this year, the company won the initial approval of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority to launch the mobile wallet in Saudi too. Speculations is the UAE launch will be followed by the launch of Noon Pay in Saudi.
With Noon Pay, users can add money by linking their debit or credit cards (Visa and Mastercard).
In the United Arab Emirates, the mobile wallet is available as a dedicated app (for iOS and Android) that enables users to pay at partner outlets and for their Cash on Delivery orders from Noon by scanning a QR code, recharge their mobile numbers in UAE and over 50 other countries and recharge the Salik (electronic toll road system of Dubai) accounts or buy its recharge card.
Noon announced earlier this year a co-branded credit card in partnership with Mashreq Bank that would offer users up to 3.5 percent cashback on purchases made from Noon and free Noon VIP membership. The ecommerce company is also building a food delivery platform.
