Transit passengers can now plan, pay and ride from Ohio to Kentucky using a mobile app, thanks to a partnership between Moovit, NEORide and Masabi, a fare payments-as-a service company, according to a press release.
Using the app, riders can plan a trip and purchase contactless tickets, ensuring neither passengers or transit employees o handle cash, according to the release. Once a destination has been activated within the app, a scannable QR code is sent to the device and is validated throughout the trip.
“Our vision for a MaaS experience is to give riders the ability to plan, pay, and ride for any public transit, shared mobility, and micro-mobility option — via one app,” Yovav Meydad, Moovit chief growth and marketing officer, said in the release. “With seamless integration of mobile ticketing and payment providers, users no longer need to search pockets for change or stand in line to top up monthly transit passes. We are excited to partner with Masabi and NEORide to offer riders a convenient, efficient, and safe way to plan, pay, and ride transit as we continue advancing into our new normal.”
